Surrian

Surrians are a race of semi-humanoid aliens in the galaxy of Black Horizon. They are, on average, taller than humans, possess four arms, and are recognized by the horizontal crests on their heads.

They have two biological sexes: male and female, but they exhibit little to no discernible traits of sexual dimorphism in their physicality beyond their reproductive organs. However, males and females do display slightly different color patterns on their bodies, with females having slightly thinner necks, which gives them a generally brighter voice.

Surrian brains and intelligence are similar to humans in many ways; however, their crests allow them to exhibit slight sonar-like abilities, granting them extreme natural reaction times and awareness of their surroundings.

Surrian ancestors were among the first to expand into the galaxy 24,000 years ago. This early ancestor became the branching point between Surrians and their evolutionary cousins, the Truthuru—a larger and, according to the Surrians, more primitive lineage of Surrians.

When creating offspring, Surrians produce an egg-like structure called a 'Goich.' The Goich can be passed between the male and female during the 6-month period in which the Surrian baby develops.

There are an estimated 50 billion Surrians in the galaxy, making them one of the most numerous and widespread races in the galaxy, roughly on par with humans.

A Surrian has an average lifespan of 220 standard years.
