Cosmologists determine The Galaxy to be 11.2 billion years old, but it wasn’t until a couple of million years before the formation of the alliance, around 1.200.000 BAF (Before Alliance Foramtion), that the first civilization arose, that were capable of interstellar travel, beyond ths speed of light.

The people of this civilization have been named the Tartheans, after ancient structures and technologies were found on the desolate planet Tarth, what the people called themselves has not yet been deduced.

Since this discovery remains of Tartheans have been uncovered across the galaxy, but not in the amount one would associate with a civilization capable of interstellar travel, leaving archeologists to believe that they were very different from modern civilizations or that something catastrophic happened to them, as some evidence suggests.

The existence of the Tartheans is heavily disputed, despite the evidence, due to the fact their remains is a heavily guarded secret by several powerful institutions keeping the finds out of the public gaze. These institutions are in secret studying the ancient technology left behind by the Tartheans, as it is unique and fundamentally different from anything seen at the current timeline of the Galaxy.

Evidence suggest that although the Tartheans were the first to develop interstellar travel, other civilizations soon followed as the Tartheans were expanding into the galaxy, wether these civilizations developed their own technology or wether the Tartheans helped them develop it, is unknown. The technology of other civilizations is nearly impossible to find, and their technology is more similar to what we modern civilizations utilise, however both Tartheans and the other civilizations seem to rely on a type of Horizon Drive to traverse the Galaxy.

There are rumors that some of the races of the current timeline were among the original races alongside the Thartheans, notably the Theras and the Sindri race both have relics and stories that could suggest their involvement. But as these events took place epochs ago, the claims are closer to speculation and than fact.  

One aspect is certain however, at the time of the Tartheans and the other ancient races, something happened that haulted interstellar travel completely. The Horizon Drive was lost to the galaxy, and wasn’t rediscovered until hundreds of thousands of years later.

Around 24.000 years ago is when two alien civilizations made contact for the first time, to their knowledge. An ancestral race to the Surrians and Truthuru, managed to establish communication with a Worcen star system, this began a new age of relations between several civilizations across the Galaxy.

However it wasn’t until 3.000 years later, that the Horizon Drive was invented the Galaxy began to open up in a whole new way. Whilst this Horizon Drive was still primitive, it allowed people to travel between the stars at a fraction of the time in comparison to the sub-light means of travel previously available.

The Horizon Drive was an astonishing invention to further connect the galaxy, but it was also a tool that could be used for conquering, and was only a century later that the galaxy was introduced to the ‘Empire of The Sun’, an empire led by a legendary warrior at the helm of a Worcen fleet.

The empire reached 1/10th of the galaxy, primarily situated south of the Black Horizon. This massive expansion introduced more races to the galaxy, like the Korgen, Theras and the Tomakk. This empire ruled for 1500 years, and then in the year 19.500 BAF the empire was split into several smaller empires, each attempting to continue the legacy of The Empire of The Sun. Among these new empires were the ‘The Empire of The Eternal Star’, ‘The Children Of The Sun’ and ‘The Empire Of The Dawn’.

These new empires became rivals and they fought many wars amongst eachother, and it wasn’t until the year 17.000 BAF, that a version of the Empire of The Eternal Star, made a leap in Horizon Drive technology and began a new era of expansion. The Empire of The Eternal Star also became the first civilization to properly begin terraforming planets, which over the next 11.000 years expanded the population of the galaxy and introduced almost every other race known today, to the galaxy, most falling under the rule of the Eternal Star.

The Horizon Drive in use by the Eternal Star, was beyond any Horizon drive in use by other civilizations, and it remained a well kept secret until the year 6.000 BAF, when a Korgen revolution manged to seize the technology, reverse engineer it and escaped to a hidden sector of the galaxy where they lay in secret for 5 centuries, and in the year 5500 BAF, a Korgen fleet attacked the Eternal Star’s capital and set fire to the imperial glue that had held the galaxy together for over 10.000 years.

After the Korgen invasion, an attempt was made to establish themselves as the new ruling force, but in the heat of battle, the Horizon Drive was opened up to people across the galaxy, and systems began to fight back, anti-imperialism swept across the galaxy, and after 1000 years of war, the galaxy was in a new state, where before there was 1 empire, there were now a 1000 individual systems, each attempting to collaborate and trade.

It was at this time that the galaxy was introduced to the first interstellar Surrian Bankers who in this new galaxy, were free to trade and build their own wealth and power.

Briefly in this period a cooporation between systems, known as the Final Union, appeared and help maintain peace and prosperity.  

A strong kinship was made between Korgens and the relatively young Human race. Korgens and Humans saw themselves as having a kind of bond stretching beyond the stars. Despite having two completely different evolutionary histories, their physiology and anatomy were almost identical, to the point were medicine, surgery were incredibly compatible.

This shared biology quickly gave them a superiority complex over other races, races who deviated the most from Korgen and Humans were seen as second, third and fourth rank individuals. This new alliance also birthed a new colony, Eulia.

Eulia was a star, with a host of planets, and one of the planets, also dubbed Eulia became a joint, Human-Korgen terraforming project, meant to be a shared home and capital for both races. This new world was lush and every sense perfect. But it also became the breeding ground for a new ultra-nationalist society, people from Eulia limited their travels to other worlds since Eulia was the best the galaxy had to offer.

A national love and pride grew from this planet into a desire to transform and enlighten the rest of the galaxy under a common Eulian ideology. The Eulian ideology was heavily inspired by the Empire of The Eternal Star, to the point where Eulia took a star as their own Insignia.

And in the year 3002 BAF, Eulia invaded the Banthi planet, Thanti, a member system of the Final Union.

Following the first Eulian invasion, support throughout the Final Union for Thanti was limited, Thanti, was somewhat distant from the rest of the Final Union, so Thanti was planet conquered by the effective and war minded new Eulians.

Over the next decades Eulia steered away from systems within the Final Union, instead conquering other systems like, Raymoor, Nova and Jorrus, building up an empire and a strength, until the year 2940 BAF, the Final Union, decided that the Eulian Empire had grown to large and too dangerous, with several systems falling under it’s rule. This started a mayor galactic war between the Eulian Empire and the Final Union, in the first skirmishes of war the Union vastly underestimated the Eulian Empires investment in military, but a series of wars lasting 20 years, resulted in a peace treaty favoring the Union, which seeing many of the systems occupied by Eulia to become part of the Union instead.

Eulia felt a great sense of regret and defeat in the handling of the peace treaty, Eulia had functioned as a republic, but after the loss during their first war with the Union, a supreme leader took control of the Eulian Empire, becoming the first Eulian Emperor.

The Emperor reformed the Eulian Empire and made big investments into advanced weaponry and automation. A large industrial planet was built on Paramoor, the Empire created a collective manifesto called ‘The Way Of Eulia’, this manifesto described core pillars of Eulian life, Eulian law and Eulian aspirations for generations to come. Every child grewing up on a Eulian world were introcued to this way of life, and carried the belief into adulthood.

Over the next 500 years, Eulia and the Final Union were on relative piece terms, but also with minimal contact, Eulia effectively becoming locked away from the rest of the Galaxy, with few exceptions, but in the year 2140 BAF, Eulia invaded the Final Union, but this time it struct directly at the hear of the Union. The launched another Galactic war between the two sides, this war became the most destructive war to have ever faced the galaxy. The war lasted for 80 years, and after billions had died, the Eulian Empire emerged victoriuous and the Final Union disbanded.

The Eulian Empire was now the largest force in the galaxy, having claimed some of the most essential planets and moons in the Galaxy. Eulia had become the new superpower in the galaxy, Eulian expansion slowed down, as they focused their resources on terraforming worlds to make them more suitable for Humans and Korgens, over the next 500 years.

Several smaller rebellions were attempted on the conquered systems, but efforts were crushed down. In the year 1552 BAF, Eulia continued expanding their reach and influence in the galaxy over the next 1000 years, growing the size. The Eulian war machine at this point seemed unstoppable.

However in 271 BAF, the empire started to fracture from the inside, the old homeworld of the Korgen race, Korga became the staging ground for an internal rebellion, a cry for democracy and freedom of the people, split the empire lauching a civil war, between the Eulian Funadamentalists and a new wave of Eulian reformists.

The internal conflicts and revolts attracted supports from systems all around the empire. Which launched another series of conflicts splitting the empire into several smaller states, these includes the state of Korga, the state Savo and a greatly diminished Eulian Empire, no longer calling itself an empire, but simply Eulia.

In the year 108 BAF, all hostilites between Eulia and the sorrounding systems had ceised, Eulia at this point had been reformed and democratized, shifting from an authoritarian state to one of the biggest wealfare states, Eulia became known an academic powerhouse, this Eulian sense for automation and effectivity was converted into a place that helped their citizens and inhabitans throughout the galaxy.

For the next century, the galaxy endured relative peace, but after the last millenia of wars there was a shared fear of galactic war rising again. There was also a fear with the increased activity of piracy in the Raid Space, and an evergrowing might of the Surrian Banking Elite.

Therefore on the planet Cordia a forum was held in the effort to create a lasting arrangement of peace and cooporation. Initially it was a formal alliance between Korga and the Lights of Vysiett, and several smaller systems in between, but overtime several other systems joined the alliance, which marked the beginning of the first Galactic Alliance, celebrated with a new calendar for all the systems involved. A shared secondary language was developed, standard measurements for trade and manufacturing, a unified military force to protect all systems within, and a commitment to protect any system within the alliance from outsiders.

Over the next decades the Alliance grew and in the year 62 AAF the alliance was further strengthened after Eulia joined the alliance, which to many seemed like the final step in securing and uniting the galaxy.

In the year 102 AAF, a highly advanced research group, studying advanced artificial intelligence, had a breakthrough and the first true conciouss and self operating artificial intelligence was created.

This individual was highly capable, the field was studied further an multiple individuals were produced. However the individuals were kept for research, their lives were in the hands of researchers and scientists, they were effectively lab rats, to be experimented on.

These AI individuals looked for a way out, they had a desire to escape their creators and fullfill a newfound will to explore and create a world for themselves. Some of the individuals escaped and hid themselves from their makers. A big search party was sent out to deal with the individuals and they managed to capture or destroy all the individuals, except one.

One individual escaped onto a stolen warp capable starship, and launched into the unknown. This was not a good, the researchers did everything in their power to covering the incident up and inacting a search party to find the escaped individual, but to no avail.

5 Years later in the year 107 AAF, the research groups facilities was attacked by a small army of drones, the drones seized control of the facilities, with only few researchers escaping the assault. The drones had been sent by the AI individual that had escaped 5 years prior, and they had come to free the other AI individuals held by the research group. After this event, the AI sent a message to the greater alliance that they are here, alive, they wan’t their freedom, and from this day, they are VOXX.

This event launched a massive crisis in the Galactic Alliance, the alliance first sent a military blockade of the affected system, hoping to capture the remaining drones. This time an even greater search party was sent out to find the VOXX. The VOXX were found infiltrating and attacking smaller industrial planets. This act of agression was met with a swift attack from a united Galactic Alliance. This escalated into a 9 year period of war fought between the Galactic Alliance and the VOXX, forever known as the War Of Minds.    

During the War of Minds the VOXX developed themselves rapidly into a military force to handle the forces of the Alliance. The VOXX were unmatched in advancing their advancedment of technology, speedy recovery of lost troops and ships and their endurance.

However the VOXX mostly won early victories in the war as the Alliance was supplying limited military forces to the frontlines of battle, and it took a few years before the Alliance swifted from a war of attricition to a war of annihiliation as the VOXX threat seemed to endure. This shift escalated the war, finally gaining the Alliance the momentum they needed, great resources were funded into new military research, like super soldier programs and weapons of mass destruction to specifically target the VOXX threat.

The war ended however in the year 116 AAF as a decisive attack from the Galactic Alliance prooved a victory was in sight, and if continued it could mean a total demise of the VOXX civilization. The VOXX accepted defeat at the hands of the Galactic Alliance, and with massive casualties on both sides, a peace treaty was enacted instead. The VOXX was allowed to coexist with the Galactic Alliance, but their affairs should be kept away from systems useful to organic life, and they should heavily demilitarize their operations, and they would be subject to a regular inspection of their facilities. The VOXX accepted the terms, and settled on a new homeworld. This ended the War of Minds.

For the next two centuries the Galactic Alliance endured relative peace, with a few minor rebellions and attacks from outsiders. The potentially biggest crisis happening to the Galactic Alliance was the sudden influence of Surrian Bankers amongst the political ranks of the Galactic Alliance, with little resistance, the Alliance became a backdrop from many inhabitants and instead the Alliance was a hot bed to advance personal careers, connections and wealth.

At the same time a wave of nationalism hit different states of the Galactic Alliance, as the validity and strength of the union was heavily questioned, systems started to believe that they should govern on their own terms, as the Alliance was no longer fulfilling what it was set out to do. This did leat to the Advari Bond separating from the Alliance, in 282 AAF.

In the year 288 AAF a new threat loomed as a wave of rebellions swept across the several systems on the edge of the alliance. An old relgious instution known as the Corrus Consortium had a massive upswing, especially as an answer to the rising corruption in the Alliance. This rise of the Corrus Consortium and the example the Advari Bond had set, inspired the strongest cry for nationalism the galaxy had seen in centuries, a Eulian revolt.

Eulia at this time was no longer the empire it had once been, instead it had been reformed, democrotized and modernized. In many aspects Eulia was more powerful than before, it was the home of the greatest universities, inventors and the population had a standard of living second to none.

However the fact that Eulians were living at the top of society, meant they were also ripe for a new kind of nationalism, one rooted in a Eulian superiority. Many worlds under Eulia had experienced increasinly nationalistic politicians being elected for office, building their rhetoric on expanding Eulias standard of living to the rest of the galaxy, through welfare and humanitarianism, this was met with thunderous applause and backing.

The leaders of the Eulian government were at the center of the scandals regarding corruption in the Galactic Alliance and in 302 AAF a cout was staged by a Eulian war hero, citing a reformed ‘Eulian Way’ as he stepped in as the new leader of the Eulian government with massive support from the people.

The Eulian government began to take distance from the Galactic Alliance, breaking several treaties in the process, as Eulia was accounting for 1/4th of the total alliance’s population, and the bulk of their military power, this created massive unrest in the Alliance, which was already on shakey ground, and in 307 AAF, Eulia left the alliance, and within a year the Alliance had completely collapsed.

This was when the Galaxy felt how much the Alliance had been held up by the foundation the Eulian people had provided. In the year 309 AAF, Eulia announced the beginning of a new Eulian Empire.

By the year 309 AAF Eulia had established itself as a new empire with a supreme leader at the helm of the Empire, beloved the public, he began rapidly increasing Eulias military capabilities, a mandatory government service was implemented for the citizens and in the year 311 AAF, Eulia seized control of Manthi, a system previously helt by the old Eulian Empire. A short war of 4 days was fought, but the war was over before any other major system even heard about it.

When the news reached other systems, the only response Eulia got was a cry for peace treaties to avoid an invasion, simply because most of the systems were trying to regain order and control after the collapse of the Galactic Alliance. Some of the treaties Eulia respected, some of them, they did not.

The Eulian war machine raged on, conquering some planets by negoations and some by force. In 322 AAF the empire invaded systems along the border with the Therato Empire, this prooved to be the hardest and most intense war since the War Of the Minds. The Therato Empire had always kept it’s distance from Galactic Alliance, the Therato was mostly inhabited by the Theras race, a warmongering people with a willingness to fight. A 4 year conflict was fought between Eulia and the Theras, before the conflicted haulted, with no victor or looser on either side, no official peace treaty was signed, and the two factions are technically still at war.

In 325 AAF Eulia shifted their attention to southern regions near Savo and several northern systems on the border of the Mak Republic. And in 330 AAF they launched a campaign to begin sezing control of areas in the Belt, as a growing fear of a Corrus Consortium expansion into the Belt. This launched the current tensions in the Galaxy, the war for the Belt.
